The Bills are hopeful that free-agent center Geoff Hangartner can handle the wave of tough 3-4 nose tackles in the AFC East.
That job no longer belongs to Melvin Fowler or Duke Preston, who split duties at center last season as the Bills finished 7-9 and ranked 25th in offense.
Preston, who has signed a two-year free agent deal with Green Bay, saved some of his hardest hits for a radio interview he conducted with The Monty Show on Sporting News Radio.
Preston, a fifth-round pick out of Illinois in 2005, appeared in 59 games for the Bills with 20 starts and after replacing Fowler in the lineup for Game 6 last season, felt his career had turned a corner.
